Our four night stay at Kingsacre was just lovely. We came to think of Kingsacre as a little oasis and treated our stay as a relaxing get away. This accommodation is surrounded by gorgeous lush gardens, and even though it is only a short walk to the beach, and the hustle and bustle of Nai Yang, you do get the feeling of being somewhere secluded and relaxing.
Hawke’s Bay, on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island, is actually New Zealand’s oldest wine region with a history beginning as early as 1851. The area has a temperate climate, and being one of New Zealand’s warmest and driest regions it is perfect for producing the award winning wines it is famous for. Hawke’s Bay is known predominately for Bordeaux style reds, Chardonnay and the famed Gimblett Gravels.
Port Adelaide has been transformed into a giant, outdoor gallery as result of the 2015 and 2017 Wonderwalls Street Art Festivals. Wonderwalls is a 3-day mural festival that has been held in Wollongong and Port Adelaide (Australia) several times over the past few years.
Munduk in the mountains of Bali is astoundingly clean and tidy, and the local people very friendly. There are many very very cheap things to do in Munduk.
Peace Haven offers boutique accommodation in the form of two B&B’s and a large villa. We stayed in the Hibiscus Villa B&B which was delightful in every way. The stand out elements of our stay, for me, would have to be the gorgeous setting, wonderful hosts, clean, comfortable rooms and being able to immerse myself in nature. Worthy of a special mention are the soft comfortable beds which are a blissful treat in South East Asia.
In this post I will briefly tell you about the destinations we visited and give you links to the full post on each. I will also include the accommodation we stayed in and the transport we chose, as well as visa and currency information, and cultural information, including food and tips on visiting pagodas.
Seeing Mandalay with such a friendly local was fabulous… but what made our time in Mandalay so special? Was it the temples, monastery, school visit or refreshing waterfall? Or was it something else entirely?
